Revive Your Home With New Windows

Updating your windows not only offers greater efficiency, it can also give your home new life. Modern window technologies, such as double or triple glazing, low-emissivity coatings, and insulated frames, help reduce heat transfer, keeping interiors warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. This leads to lower energy consumption and reduced utility bills. In addition to improving efficiency, new windows also contribute to the overall aesthetic of a property by offering sleek designs, customizable styles, and clearer views, ultimately increasing curb appeal and property value.
But updating windows doesn’t always mean replacint them. When Frederick + Frederick Architecture was tasked with renovating this lowcountry home, one of the first design decisions was to update the windows. Some were replaced while those in good condition were given a facelift with new paint. This design trick dramatically increased the home’s appeal–once you see the difference, it’s easy to understand why this element in home design can be so important.

ABOVE The foyer now offers a clean, contemporary first impression. The aesthetic is greatly improved with a new steel and glass front door, losing the orange wood and replacing the handrail and treads.
RIGHT Udates to the windows extend a clean and monochromatic look to the kitchen—new cabinets, counters, appliances, and fixtures also help to really freshen things up.
