March 8th begins the 26th Annual Hilton Head Wine and Food Festival at various locations throughout the Island. For locals and tourists alike the event is the unofficial kick off to the spring season. And the weather forecast for Saturday’s WineFest public tasting and auctions looks great. The forecast calls for sunny all day and temperatures in the upper 60′s. Of course, that means the temperature will probably reach the low 70′s. Either way, it looks like a great day to be outdoors.
Tickets for the Saturday event are $40 per person and the event features 400+ wines, entertainment, a live and silent auction, a Waiter’s Race, Bartenders Challenge, and Outdoor Gourmet Pavilion which features cooking demonstrations by local chefs. Food samplings from Island restaurants will be available for additional purchase.
