You’ve heard the story… “We got into fish so thick we caught one every time we wet our line!” Then you think, “Why can’t I do that?” Well…you can! Early June through September, the warm waters surrounding our Island attract bountiful schools of baitfish including Menhaden, Silversides, and Pilchards. These bait fish are favorite foods of migratory Spanish Mackeral, Bluefish and Jack Cravelle.(more)

Hilton Head Island has over 50 miles of walking and bike paths, and that doesn’t include the beach! The city keeps building more! Why? Because it is the best way to get your exercise, walk the dog, and enjoy the island’s natural beauty. All paths lead to great eating places, shopping, and water views. They are mostly tree covered and are typically flat and very easy to navigate. And cycling is parking-hassle free!
Bicycling in Sea Pines is a “must” for cycling, but also try Palmetto Dunes, Shelter Cove and even Shipyard if your destination is the Crown Plaza. But connecting all of these places from the south to the north end of the island are more bike paths along Hwy 278, Pope Avenue, North and South Forest Beach Drives, and Palmetto Bay Road.
